MY CHOSEN BRIEF : BRIEF 4 - MUSIC MARKETING


 To create a cross media production (distribution of content e.g music, text etc) for a new artist or band in a genre or sub genre/ hybrid of your choice.

You should create a cross media production for a specialist record label. The chosen record label can be independent ( XL Recordings) or a specialist label (Def Jam) that is part of a larger conglomerate.


This must target a specialised audience of 18-34 year olds music aficionados
(people who are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic).

OVERVIEW:


Create an original music video and associated print or online material promoting a new artist or band.


Task 1:

Create an original music video to promote your artist or band.



The length of video must be 3 minutes - 3 minutes 30 seconds long ( Longer track may be edited or faded out to meet the required length.
An existing song can be used in the music video BUT the song MUST NOT have and existing OFFICIAL music video.




Task 2:


Create a front cover and double page feature articles for a new specialist music magazine to promote your artist or band to the target audience.

Context Kerrang is a type of magazine, It is a British weekly magazine devoted to rock and metal music which is currently published by Wasted Talent. Kerrang magazine was first published on 6th June 1981 as a one-off supplement in the Sound newspaper. Kerrang was initially devoted to British heavy metal and the rise of hard rock acts. Because British heavy metal and the rise of hard rock acts was a new wave at the time, in the early 2000s it became the best selling weekly British music magazine. Kerrang magazine analysis The text edit producer of Kerrang magazine used the rule of thirds to divide the magazine cover.
